BOOT CAMP
For BOTH Men and Women

Balancing Our Lifestyles wants to make working out fun for you.  We try our best to meet the demands of your schedule and offer an assortment of classes.  We have a variety of equipment to help you tone up your body and increase your heart rate.  We try to integrate a variety of exercises and routines into your workout to keep working out interesting and fun! 


STEP AEROBICS AND RESISTANCE TRAINING FOR WOMEN

Coming back in March!  This exercise is geared to increase cardio and build muscle!  We want to melt away the pounds and have fun with a variety exercises.   Stephanie has a variety of routines and equipment to utilize that will help keep you motivated.   This exercise ranges from low to medium impact activities.   As the class progresses, the routines may become more intense based on the consistency of attendees.


LADIES NIGHT AT THE RED LAKE FITNESS CENTER

FYI – The Red Lake Fitness Center holds a ladies ONLY night on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.

Certified Personal Trainer – John Nicholson

Balancing Our Lifestyle’s John Nicholson, RN, PHN, and Lead Educator is a certified personal trainer.  John is certified as a personal trainer and wants to help our participants and community members get fit and stay motivated.  John is now able to provide you with your very own personalized workout plan.  If you are interested in developing a plan specific to your needs and ability, give BOL a call and ask for John 679-4144.

John currently teaches Boot Camp offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Red Lake Fitness Center from 12 PM to 1 PM.



Certified Group Exercise Instructor – Stephanie Morgan

Balancing Our Lifestyle’s Stephanie Morgan, MBA, BSBA, and Program Coordinator is a certified in group exercises.  Stephanie’s goal is to offer low to medium impact classes for women in the community.  The key to workout success is keeping a variety of fun and motivating exercises in your workout routine.  With the variety of equipment at the fitness center, BOL hopes to get or keep our participants and community members moving to prevent or maintain diabetes!

Suzy and Hondo Dance Lesson
COMING SOON!

Balancing Our Lifestyles will sponsor dancing sessions with Suzy and Hondo. Dancing is a fun and physical activity.   We plan to travel twice to each community from March through May.

Balancing Our Lifestyles
Diabetes Prevention Program is RECRUITING!

We are looking for individuals that are:

• American Indian
• 18 years of age or older
• Previously diagnosed with Prediabetes
• FBG of 100 - 125 mg/dl
• A1C 5.7% - 6.4%

You DO NOT qualify for the BOL diabetes prevention program if:

• You have diabetes
• You are currently pregnant
• You have end stage renal disease

About the BOL diabetes prevention program:

• 16-week curriculum based on eating healthier and increasing physical activity.
Classes held once a week for approximately 1 hour.
• Incentives are given to participants for every class attended.
• Sunday evening classes are possible. 
• Snacks and beverages every class.

Goals of program:

• Lose 7% of body weight
• Increase physical activity up to 150 minutes per week

We would like to start classes in Ponemah and Red Lake, but will take suggestions for other locations if there is interest. We can screen anyone upon his or her request at the BOL building, or at his or her work location (if supervisor's okay). Our building is located across the street from the hospital.
